Taylor Travels

Year: 2025–2026
Role: Product Designer & Builder (Independent Project)

Overview

Travel inspiration is everywhere, but useful trip context rarely stays organized. Taylor Travels is a personal travel journal designed to capture where I've been, what I'd recommend, and how I'd approach a destination again — combining guides, maps, packing notes, and curated recommendations into one intentional, shareable experience.

The Challenge

After visiting ten countries in two years, my best recommendations lived across camera rolls, Google Maps pins, Notes app checklists, and scattered messages to friends. Existing travel platforms either prioritized generic recommendations or overwhelming amounts of content, making it difficult to revisit a destination with the context that actually made the trip successful — what was worth booking, what I'd skip next time, and how to realistically plan the experience.

What I Shipped

Designed and built a destination-first travel platform focused on reusable trip planning and editorial storytelling. Structured each guide around practical decision-making — recommendations, neighborhoods, maps, cafés, restaurants, packing notes, and featured experiences — so users can quickly understand both the logistics and personality of a destination. Built reusable page templates and scalable content structures to support future country and city expansion while maintaining a cohesive visual system and navigation experience across the site.
